A movie companion app built on the TMDb API.
A React Native movie application built at the end of the Timedoor Academy bootcamp, pulling film information, trailers, and cast details from the TMDb API.
Filmu was the closing project of the Timedoor Academy bootcamp, presented to mentors at the end of the programme. It is a movie companion app: browse films, open one, and get its details, its trailer, and its cast.

The app is built in React Native with stack and bottom-tab navigation, and film data comes from the TMDb API over an HTTP client. Trailers play through an embedded YouTube player, forms are handled with a form library and schema validation, and local storage keeps state between launches.
A good part of the dependency list goes to interface work (carousels, modals and bottom sheets, Lottie animations, vector icons, and orientation locking) reflecting the bootcamp's emphasis on producing something that behaves like a finished app.
Brief
Problem
The bootcamp's final project had to demonstrate everything taught across the programme in one working application rather than a set of exercises.
Solution
Build a complete consumer app around a real public API: navigation, remote data, embedded video, form validation, and local storage in one project.
